Trip Start

Our adventure begins promptly in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Vietnam at 8am on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at the Myst Dong Khoi hotel (see Our Accommodations).

It is each guest's responsibility to meet at the trip's starting point on time. We recommend arriving at least one full day prior to the start of our trip in the case of unforeseen circumstances or travel delays. You will want to arrive on February 19, and most likely start your travel on February 18 to account for the time difference.

Arrival Airport

The closest airport to our trip starting point is Ho Chi Minh City's Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN), about a 20-minute drive from our hotel. Currently there are no direct flights to SGN airport from the United States. Instead, you'll connect through any major Asian hub including Tokyo (6.5hrs), Hong Kong (2.5hrs), Singapore (2hrs, 10min) and a dozen other cities in the region, as well as European hubs including London (12.5hrs) and Paris (12hrs).

Transfer from Airport

We recommend scheduling a car through the hotel or hailing a taxi upon arrival.

Private transportation is available from SGN airport to your hotel through the concierge at Myst Dong Khoi hotel (see Our Accommodations) no more than 30 days ahead of your arrival. Contact the hotel's concierge desk directly to arrange.

Alternatively, you can arrange your own taxi upon arrival. Metered taxis are available on the arrivals level at both Domestic and International terminals. Taxi fare is charged according to the taxi meter, and takes 30-40 minutes to the city center. The cost is approximately 320,000 VND (approx. US$15).

Pre-Arrival Accommodations

We stay in unique, in-demand hotels on this trip—rooms go fast and daily rates change frequently. If you plan to arrive in Ho Chi Minh City prior to the beginning of our journey, we recommend staying at Myst Dong Khoi hotel (see Our Accommodations), which is also our meeting spot on Day One. Please contact the hotel directly to book.

If they are booked, we also recommend the Alcove Library Hotel or Hotel des Arts, two well-regarded boutique hotels conveniently located in the city's old quarter.

Trip End

We end our trip—after a week of exploration, connection, and delicious food and drink—in Siem Reap, Cambodia on Sunday, February 27, 2022.

Departure Airport

We recommend guests depart from the Siem Reap International Airport (REP) in Siem Reap, Cambodia. It's a 15-minute drive from our hotel. This is a different airport from the one we begin at, so make sure to book your outbound flights accordingly.

Please note if you are flying roundtrip out of Ho Chi Minh City's SGN airport, you will need to purchase a one-way ticket from Siem Reap back to Saigon.

Transfer to Airport

After breakfast on our last day, Modern Adventure will provide several small group transfers from our hotel to Siem Reap's REP airport to accommodate various departure times.

If you choose to extend your time in Cambodia, or are departing from a location other than Siem Reap, it is your responsibility to book alternative transportation.

Post-Trip Accommodations
